President of SSH Management Board, Gabrijel Škof, Resigns

Gabrijel Škof, President of the Management Board of Slovenian Sovereign Holding, submitted his resignation notice today. Mr. Škof resigned from the position as President of the SSH Management Board for personal reasons as he has decided to take up other challenges.

The Supervisory Board thanked Mr. Škof for good work carried out and wished him a successful career in the future. During his term of office at the head of Slovenian Sovereign Holding, the Management Board, together with the SSH's employees, successfully undertook several projects. These included a business process optimisation project to check and optimise business processes, and a corporate reorganisation project to transform SSH so that greater support is ensured for pursuing strategic guidelines and so that the structure is aligned with the objectives, which are aimed at achieving the successful and good quality corporate governance of SOEs and for the implementation of other tasks imposed on SSH by various laws.

The SSH Supervisory Board accepted his resignation notice and invited the Nomination Committee to initiate the procedure to fill the vacancy in the SSH Management Board, in accordance with ZSDH-1. For the purpose of ensuring the smooth operation of Slovenian Sovereign Holding, pursuant to Article 273, Paragraph 2 of ZGD-1, SSH Supervisory Board, composed of the following members: Karmen Dietner, Damjan Belič, Duško Kos and Janez Vipotnik, unanimously appointed Igor Kržan as the Interim President of the SSH Management Board with a one year tenure and until the appointment of a new President of the Management Board, in accordance with ZSDH-1. Igor Kržan will assume his position on 2 July 2020, and from that time onwards, his position as a Supervisory Board Member will be suspended.

At his departure, Gabrijel Škof said: "I am leaving SSH in a stable condition, its performance results are good and all asset management goals have been achieved. I believe that the Management Board led by Igor Kržan will continue with the planned operations. The organisation has a very solid professional foundation which will ensure further development of this institution and provide for successful corporate governance of SOEs. However, with the enforcement of ZSOS-C, suitable sources of financing must be ensured to secure its operation and to settle compensations under various laws.”.

At today's regular session of the SSH Supervisory Board which is the last session in the current membership configuration before the term of office for two members terminates, the President of the Supervisory Board, Karmen Dietner, thanked Duško Kos and Damjan Belič for their services which they had rendered during their tenure and for ensuring good quality oversight of SSH's operation since 2015.

Igor Kržan holds a University Degree in Economics, has completed an MBA and has extensive experience in running and managing companies. Since 2016, he has been a co-owner and a director of Aluplus, d.o.o., and prior to that he held the position of President of the Management Board of Trimo, d.d., where he dealt with an intensive corporate restructuring process which was completed successfully. The said project ensured a positive turnaround of operations and contributed to the subsequent sale of the company. He held several executive functions in Ursa Slovenija, d.o.o. in which he played a major role in restructuring and overseeing the restructuring of several companies in Italy, Slovenia, Turkey and Romania. During his career, he also worked in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically, for Krka, both in Slovenia and abroad, and he has thus obtained important international experience. He held the position of President of the SSH Management Board for six months in 2019. He holds a certificate for rendering the services of a member of the Supervisory Board and the Management Board.
