Member of SSH Management Board Appointed

Following the resignation notice by Andrej Božič who will resign as the SSH's Management Board Member on 1 December 2019, the Nomination Committee continued procedures for appointing a new Member of the SSH Management Board, at the call by the SSH Supervisory Board. Taking into consideration all competences required for a Member of the SSH Management Board, the SSH Supervisory Board endorsed the proposal by the Nomination Committee, and appointed Boris Medica as the new SSH Management Board Member who will assume his four-year term of office on 2 December 2019.

Boris Medica holds the University Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.SC (Elec. Eng.) and the M. B. A. He is an expert having international experience in managing and running large business systems.

For more than 19 years, he worked in healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, in the international company Johnson & Johnson, both in Slovenia and abroad. He thus obtained important international experience. During this period of time, he held top positions in various business functions and was also the Director of several companies in the Johnson & Johnson Group.  He mainly worked in the financial field, his last position in Johnson and Johnson was a Senior Regional Finance Director for Central and Eastern Europe. During the last part of his career in Johnson & Johnson, he managed projects for restructuring business models and the business and financial restructuring of subsidiaries in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey.

In 2015, he joined the Sava Re Insurance Group in which he successfully led the merger of four insurance companies into the unified Sava Insurance Group. From the middle of 2016 until the end of 2017, Boris Medica held the position of a Management Board Member of Sava Insurance Group. In addition to the supervision over the merger processes, he was in charge of the financial operations, including both the asset management and the corporate financial operations, of Accounting and Information Technology.

He holds a certificate by the Slovenian Directors' Association for rendering the services of a member of a Supervisory Board and of a Management Board.

Among other matters discussed at the session, the SSH Supervisory Board was conscientized about the Chief Compliance Officer's Report for the period from 1 April  2019 to 30 June 2019, about the Interim Report of SSH and SSH Group and approved the proposal amending the Rules of Procedure of the SSH Audit Committee.
